Madame Tussauds London has installed Actor Idris Elba’s wax in which he unveiled at the world famous Baker Street attraction.
The wax figure is dressed in a long-sleeve version of the suit he wore when meeting King Charles in July 2024, complete with patent Christian Louboutin shoes donated by Elba himself.
The Luther actor described the experience as “surreal,” saying it’s an honour to be recognised in this way and that seeing the waxwork makes him feel like a part of him will always be at home in London.
The 53 year old was closely involved in the wax figure’s creation, comparing the process to preparing for a movie role as he worked with the museum’s artists on details like costume and likeness.
The wax figure stands in the museum’s Awards Party zone, alongside other famous waxworks including Gillian Anderson, Timothée Chalamet, Harry Styles, Zendaya and Lady Gaga.
Idris Elba is well-known for roles in The Wire and Luther. He has been appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to drama.
