Edo State House of Assembly has summoned Natasha Osawaru to appear before its Ethics and Privileges Committee to explain her conduct after allegations that her behaviour has “dragged the name of the Assembly into the mud.”
The summons comes amid a flurry of public controversy and online drama around the couple’s relationship: a viral video showed a heated confrontation between 2Baba and Natasha during an Instagram Live session.
Since Natasha represents Egor Constituency, her conduct is under scrutiny not just personally but institutionally. Lawmakers are concerned that the public marital disputes reflect poorly on the Assembly’s reputation, hence the summons to explain herself.
The Assembly’s decision to escalate this to the Ethics and Privileges Committee suggests they may consider disciplinary measures depending on her response and the findings, though what that might be isn’t yet clear.
The dispute has reportedly included allegations from 2Baba’s former management team claiming that Natasha has exerted an unhealthy amount of control over both his personal and professional life.
Among the claims by the management team are that Natasha allegedly oversees his finances, influences his decisions, and has been involved in multiple intense altercations with him.
The public unraveling began when 2Baba’s ex-managers appeared on a live broadcast that has now gone viral, to discuss the singer’s stalled career projects. During that session, serious claims were made against Natasha. Immediately after, 2Baba and Natasha joined the livestream and the couple could be heard arguing.
A video later surfaced online, allegedly showing 2Baba being escorted away by UK police, after a public disagreement with Natasha. The video has since triggered concern about the nature of their relationship.
For 2Baba, the consequences are mostly reputational. The public airing of private marital problems, combined with the associations of domestic violence and professional interference, may impact how fans and collaborators view him.
Fellow artistes and public figures have weighed in. For instance, musician Teni publicly asked for intervention on behalf of 2Baba, framing the situation as a “rescue.”
Meanwhile, some commentators and fans have criticized both parties — with some accusing the wife of being overbearing or unstable, others calling the public exposure irresponsible.
As of now, no independent verification of all allegations has been publicly confirmed — but the sheer volume of videos, live sessions and official summons suggests this is more than just gossip.
