Film director, Spike Lee teamed up with Arsenal FC to direct “Who Are Ya?”, a short film created with Airwallex around Arsenal’s partnership with the fintech company.
What makes it interesting is that Spike Lee is genuinely an Arsenal fan, saying his allegiance started through his friendship with Thierry Henry.
The film is set in a North London pub, with Lee, Henry, Arsenal legends, current players and actors debating football and finance.
The cast includes Thierry Henry, Rachel Yankey, Martin Keown, Aaron Pierre, Jasmine Jobson, Gabriel, Viktor Gyökeres and Kai Havertz.
Lee brings his trademark filmmaking style to it, including his famous “double dolly” shot with Henry.
It’s essentially Arsenal using one of its most famous American supporters to turn a corporate sponsorship announcement into a piece of football culture rather than a conventional advert.
And the timing is especially notable: Arsenal entered the 2026/27 season as Premier League champions, ending a 22-year wait for the title.
