Trevor Nelson recently revealed that doctors discovered he had a brain tumour because of unspecified health problems.
The 62-year-old said he underwent “very serious surgery” a few weeks after the diagnosis and that it “went incredibly well.”
He has spent the past month recovering at home and receiving post-operative treatment.
Encouragingly, he says he feels “great”, “energised” and almost back to himself, and is hoping to return to radio and DJ work soon.
He hasn’t yet shared the full details of his diagnosis or treatment, saying he’ll tell the “whole crazy story” at a later date.
Nelson had been presenting the weekday afternoon show on BBC Radio 2, with DJ Spoony currently covering the slot during his absence.
It’s a reassuring update after what sounds like a very serious and understandably frightening experience.
